What is faith-based Christian counseling?God created us perfectly happy, in harmony with Him, our relationships and our environment. When humans walked away from God they precipitated the brokenness of the world we see today. Christian counseling is based on the assumption that it provides the best understanding of the human personality from the Christian worldview as it endeavors to help clients understand and experience God’s love, which is freely offered. Our aim is to see people grow in their trust of and obedience to God thus giving their lives direction and purpose; and to see people develop healthy relationships with themselves and others with personal freedom as the end result. It takes the Bible as the truth and its promises as the means of healing. However, we do not settle for simplistic answers without regards to psychological principles and the inner workings of the mind in God’s amazing design. Thus we use a psycho-physio-social eclectic approach, and filter psychological principles by the truth, God's Word, the Bible.

What about confidentiality?Confidentiality is one of the most important components of the therapeutic relationship. Underage adolescents need a place where they can share their thoughts and feelings without others knowing. As a parent you have a right to information about your adolescent treatment so you will be given general updates on his/her progress. Sometimes you may want me to share information or give an update to someone else such as a doctor, or insurance carrier, but we will not release any information without your written permission. State law and professional ethics require therapists to maintain confidentiality except for the following situations: * Suspected past or present abuse or neglect of children, adults, less able, and the elderly. * If the therapist has reason to suspect the client is seriously in danger of harming himself/herself or has threaten to harm another person. * If the therapist is ordered by a judge to release information.
